Hideo Kojima, creator of Death Stranding, has been taking to Twitter to provide additional details about the game. Two more bits of insight have been revealed. One is that there will be a first-person perspective, and the other is that he refers to it as “Action Game, Strand Game.”

To provide insight into the Death Stranding first-person view, Kojima showed a screenshot where perhaps Sam was seeing things from that perspective. He clarified on Twitter that “You can enjoy First Person View but not a First Person Shooter game.” He did not note if this is an option people can pull up while playing with the press of a button or if there will be certain segments that will be deliberately in the first-person, rather than the third-person. (All gameplay footage shown so far has been in the third-person.)

Kojima also declared Death Stranding’s genre. He said that it is a game with a social strand system. In a follow-up tweet, he said, “I knew that the name of new genre shouldn’t be made from the creator but it should come with it later on, but forgive me I just like to name it. It’s like I named Tactical Espionage Action for [Metal Gear] before categorizing into Stealth game, I named Social Strand System for [Death Stranding].”

Death Stranding will come to the PlayStation 4 on November 8, 2019.
