Heroes Phantasia’s Battle System Brings Back Memories Of Valkyrie Profile

This Heroes Phantasia trailer starts just like the other videos by introducing all of the game’s characters. Then it delves into the Direct Action Shift system, which lets you change your four man party in the middle of battle.

Similar to Valkyrie Profile, each button controls a different character. Attacks draw energy from a common pull of action points. By pressing buttons at specific times you can send your characters into Overcharge state, which powers them up for battle. Hit L to do one of the flashy special attacks shown in the beginning of the video.

Heroes Phantasia comes out on PSP on January 19.
