Yesterday, we reported that Super Smash Bros. Ultimate director Masahiro Sakurai would be showing off the second DLC character, Hero from the Dragon Quest series, in a ~22 minute demo, and it seems that the character might be releasing on July 31 alongside an update for the game.
The info comes by way of Chocobalt on Twitter, who noticed that Nintendo of Europe made a major gaffe. Ver. 4.0.0 was announced to be coming on July 31, 2019, with the tweet reminding people to save replays into videos before the update. Given that previous updates were accompanied by characters like Piranha Plant and Joker, we are likely going to see the official announcement tomorrow as well.
Since then, the Tweet has been deleted and replaced with a more general ‘within 7 days’. The deletion of the Tweet also suggests that Hero is coming on July 31.
Super Smash Bros. Ultimate is available for the Nintendo Switch.
