The Seeker Archetype in Metaphor: ReFantazio is a balanced job that specializes in single target skills, but has a fire weakness that it can never shake off. Here’s how to obtain Seeker, as well as the more advanced Archetypes in its lineage.

• Seeker: This is the Protagonist’s default Archetype so you literally can’t miss it.
• Magic Seeker: Reach Rank 20 of Seeker and Rank 3 in More’s story; give 6000 MAG
• Soul Hacker: Reach Rank 20 of Magic Seeker and Rank 7 in More’s story; give 16,500 MAG

It shouldn’t be too difficult to meet the requirements for Soul Hacker. If you don’t want to waste time manually farming EXP for Seeker and Magic Seeker, you can use items like Hero’s Fruit to gain Archetype Experience. As well, More’s follower story in particular is one that you’ll likely complete while naturally playing through the game. You proceed to the next rank via his requests, which all have to do with researching Archetypes.

What is the Seeker good for?

Seeker is a great Archetype for single target attacks, support, and healing. It learns abilities like Cyc, Dei, Tarukaja, Sweeping Slash, and Tetrabreak. Magic Seeker continues this trend. It’s with Soul Hacker that things change, allowing its user to learn spells like Seeker’s Gale and Seeker’s Flame. These spells not only deal heavy elemental damage, but it can also restore the wearer’s MP. MP is a very vital resource in Metaphor: ReFantazio, so I highly recommend having characters reach the pinnacle of the Seeker tree.

While there’s no rule stopping you from letting anyone research any Archetype, some characters are better suited for certain classes than others. In Seeker’s case, due to it naturally requiring balance between physical and magic stats, characters like the Protagonist, Hulkenberg, and Heismay do well in this role. In my personal experience, Strohl and Junah are also alright provided that you give Junah in particular a good weapon.
