Here’s How a Final Fantasy XIV Female Hrothgar Looks

During the keynote for the Final Fantasy XIV Fan Festival 2024 Tokyo, an updated Dawntrail trailer showed the female Hrothgar. A new ally for the Warrior of Light is a member of this race from Yok Tural.

The new character’s name, who appears as an example of how a female Hrothgar will appear in Final Fantasy XIV, didn’t get a name in the new trailer. She does speak in it, however. She says, “At least, we come to the land you call the new world. My home: Tural.” Later in the keynote, Yoshida said her name is Wuclomat, she’s the daughter of the current ruler of Tural, and she’s the one who requested the Scions’ help.

Here are some screenshots of her in the trailer.

The keynote ended with a trailer for the new gender for the existing race.

Back in 2019, Director and Producer Naoki Yoshida explained how things like the cost of development and other elements resulted in only female Viera and male Hrothgar. However, in 2021 he announced that male Viera and female Hrothgar would be headed to the game and suggested both would appear in Endwalker, with the new Viera gender showing up first. In a 2022 update, Yoshida noted that development on the female Hrothgar was progressing, but it would take more time for them to appear. Now it is confirmed that we’ll start seeing them in Dawntrail.

Final Fantasy XIV is available for the PS4, PS5, and PC. It is also headed to the Xbox Series X in Spring 2024. The Dawntrail expansion is in development for a Summer 2024 release.
