Final Fantasy VII Rebirth is quite different from Remake, as the sequel opts for a more open world-like experience with massive regions to explore. Here is the full FF7 Rebirth world map so you can see every location in the game you get to explore.
Full FF7 Rebirth World Map
Final Fantasy VII Rebirth has many unique locations to explore across its 14 chapters. This includes a final chapter level called “Northwood,” as well as a massive open-world sea called “Meridian Ocean.” The latter, you unlock after obtaining Cid Highwind and his plane plane in Chapter 12: A Golden Key. The full FF7 Rebirth map also features the vast majority of locations from the original 1997 game, including places like Kalm, Junon, and Nibelheim.
However, it is worth noting that the FF7 Rebirth world map is a bit misleading. While it is possible to traverse much of the world, the game uses individual maps for each of the different regions that players visit. Instead of one singular open world to explore, like in the original, it is more like interconnected but mostly separate regions.

How Many Regions Are in FF7 Rebirth?
FF7 Rebirth has a total of six open-world regions for players to explore in this game. Most of these are broken up into chapters. However, you can eventually fast-travel to any of these locations any time you want after progressing to Chapter 12. Here are all of the regions players will be able to visit in this title:
- Grasslands
- Kalm.
- Junon
- Under Junon, Upper Junon.
- Corel
- Costa del Sol, Mt. Corel, Corel Coal Mines, North Corel Town, Gold Saucer, Southern Corel.
- Gongaga
- Gongaga Village, Mako Reactor.
- Cosmo Canyon
- Planetarium.
- Nibel
- Nibelheim, Mako Reactor.
Those are the six core regions players can visit in Final Fantasy VII Rebirth. As mentioned earlier, there are technically two other major areas players visit in the game, and those are the Meridian Ocean and Northwood. That said, these two don’t contain the side jobs, intel, and other content of the core regions. As such, most of the player’s time will be spent exploring and completing content in the six main regions. This world map is extensive, but it does exclude crucial places like Wutai and Midgar.
Final Fantasy VII Rebirth is available right now exclusively for PlayStation 5.
