Here Are the Characters You Need to Know in Oshi no Ko

One of the most beloved and impressive manga and anime series in recent memory is Oshi no Ko. From the brilliant minds and skillful artwork of the creators of Kaguya-sama: Love Is War and Scum’s Wish, this incredible story of an idol girl and her two children is a must-watch. This is in large part due to the characters in Oshi no Ko.

Here are all of the main characters you’ll meet in the first few volumes and episodes of the Oshi no Ko manga and anime. There are some early spoilers throughout, so beware.

Ai Hoshino

The literal star and shining light of the series, Ai Hoshino is a 16 year old pop idol from the group B-Komachi who is pregnant at the beginning of the series. She is the sudden and surprising single mother of the twins, Aqua and Ruby.

Aquamarine Hoshino/Gorou Amamiya

Aqua Hoshino is the older twin brother of Ruby and the son of Ai Hoshino. He is also the reincarnated soul of Gorou Amamiya, a doctor in the Japanese countryside. As one of the primary protagonists of the series, it follows his life as he grows up in show business as an actor.

Ruby Hoshino/Sarina Tendoji

Ruby Hoshino is the younger sister of Aqua, daughter of Ai Hoshino, and fellow protagonist. She might have blonde hair, but she follows in her mother’s footsteps as an aspiring idol. She is also reincarnated like her brother, previously known as the terminally ill Sarina Tendoji.

Miyako Saitou

She is one of the managers for Strawberry Productions, the company behind the group B-Komachi, and acts as a motherly figure to Ruby and Aqua when their mother is working.

Ichigo Saitou

Ichigo is the husband of Miyako and the president of Strawberry Productions. He is the man credited for the discovery of Ai Hoshino’s immense talent.

Taishi Gotanda

Taishi acts as a mentor to Aqua as he grows up in the acting industry. He is both a director and friend who employs Aqua and teaches him the ropes.

Kana Arima

As one of the first friends to Aqua, Kana Arima is a childhood acting star who eventually attends the same school as Ruby and Aqua.

Akane Kurokawa
