Here Are the Best Tartaglia (Childe) Weapons in Genshin Impact

Tartaglia, aka Childe, in Genshin Impact is a fairly unique DPS character whose weapons depend on how you want to use him. Because of how tricky his stance system can be, you can delegate him to an off-field support or a sub-DPS.

How is Tartaglia as a unit in Genshin Impact?

As mentioned earlier, Tartaglia should fulfill the DPS role. However, he has an extremely long Skill cooldown if you don’t end it early. This can severely limit his use in timed challenges like Spiral Abyss. You will need to plan out your team and rotation to make sure your DPS doesn’t suffer in his down time, or unlock Constellations. Because of his cooldown and his passive Talent (increase party members’ Normal Attack by 1), you can treat him as an off-field support or sub-DPS as well.

Outside of battle, Tartaglia doesn’t have anything going on for him. Of course, as a Bow user, he’s helpful in archery challenges on the map, or solving puzzles that require either a bow or a Hydro element. Unlike certain characters, like Keqing or Kazuha, he doesn’t have any advantages when it comes to exploration. Much like how Tartaglia is as a person, his usefulness as a unit comes entirely from his potential in battle.

Tartaglia is a great 5-star character, with high damage scaling and fast Hydro application for Elemental Reactions. His Riptide (which scales off of his Normal Attack Talent, by the way) is fantastic in crowds. Unless you take the time to set up his team and build though, his performance can be middling, especially compared to newer DPS characters like Alhaitham and Ayaka. Once you master him though, he’s easily one of the best Vaporize-focused DPS characters in the game.

Best weapons for Tartaglia (Childe) in Genshin Impact

  • Polar Star
Tartaglia’s signature bow increases his Elemental Skill and Burst DMG. As well, he can gain stacks from hitting the enemy, with a maximum ATK boost of 48% (R1). Its main stat is Crit Rate, which gives you more freedom to stack sub stats like Crit DMG in his Artifacts.
  • Thundering Pulse
Yoimiya’s signature bow increases ATK %, as well as grants him a Crit DMG bonus from its main stat. It’s got amazing stats and it has a great passive effect for Tartaglia’s kit. It can give stacks that boost his Normal Attack DMG.
  • The Viridescent Hunt
This is a BP weapon that you have to pay to get, but you are guaranteed to get it. It has a Crit Rate main stat, and it generates a Cyclone that deals damage to surrounding enemies after a Normal or Aimed Shot Attack. This Cyclone can also gather enemies, which can be useful for Tartaglia’s Riptide.
  • Rust
This is a good weapon for Tartaglia due to its boost to his Normal Attack. Since most of Tartaglia’s damage will come from his Normal Attack (boosted with his Skill, of course), Rust is a great weapon for him if you don’t have any of the more premium options.
  • The Stringless
The Stringless is only good if you want to use Tartaglia for his Burst. In a Vaporize team where Tartaglia serves more as a sub-DPS than anything else, you can rotate him in to use his Burst for a lot of damage. A lot of showcase videos around Tartaglia’s initial release gave him The Stringless for big Vaporize damage. Mouun’s Moon is an alternative weapon for this strategy.
  • Blackcliff Warbow
Blackcliff Warbow is a great weapon for DPS characters and Tartaglia is no exception. It has Crit DMG as its main stat and gives an ATK boost after he defeats an enemy. Tartaglia is honestly better-suited to fight against mobs rather than a boss thanks to Riptide, so you should be able to take advantage of that passive effect.

Genshin Impact is readily available on the PS4, PS5, Windows PC, and mobile devices. You can only pull for Tartaglia in Genshin Impact when the “Farewell of Snezhnaya” is active.
