As is common in recent entries, people get skills for their Fire Emblem Engage characters to make them more effective in battle. These abilities could increase their odds of surviving or help them do more damage. To help people out when planning which skills to work toward and bonds to build with Emblem Rings, here are some abilities that can be especially helpful.

Alacrity++
What does it do? If unit initiates combat with a Spd advantage of 5 or more, unit’s follow-up (if possible) occurs before foe can counterattack.
How do you get it? Complete Lyn’s Paralogue, then reach Bond Lvl 18 and spend 3,000 SP.
Note: Alacrity is available at Bond Lvl 5 for 1,000 SP and Alacrity+ is available at Bond Lvl 13 for 2,000 SP.
Canter
What does it do? Unit can move 2 spaces after certain actions.
How do you get it? Reach Bond Lvl 5 with Sigurd and spend 1,000 SP.
Note: Canter+ is available at 2,000 SP if you complete Sigurd’s Paralogue and reach Bond Lvl 13, and it lets someone move 3 spaces after acting.
Diffuse Healer
What does it do? When unit is healed by a staff, all adjacent allies also recover 50% of the HP that the unit recovered.
How do you get it? Get to level 5 in the Martial Master Advanced Class.
Draconic Hex
What does it do? If unit initiates combat, inflicts -4 to all of foe’s basic stats after combat. (Penalties shrink by 1 each turn.)
How do you get it? Reach Bond Lvl 8 with Corrin and spend 2,000 SP.
Dual Assist+
What does it do? If unit is able to chain attack, unit will do so when allies attack foes unit could reach by moving. Trigger %=70
How do you get it? Complete Lucina’s Paralogue, then reach Bond Lvl 18 and spend 2,000 SP.
Note: Dual Assist is available at Bond Lvl 5 for 1,000 SP.
Hold Out+++
What does it do? If unit had 2 HP or more at start of combat, unit always survives combat with at least 1 HP.
How do you get it? Complete Roy’s Paralogue, then reach Bond Lvl 18 and spend 5,000 SP.
Note: Hold Out is available at Bond Lvl 5 for 2,000 SP, Hold Out+ is available at Bond Lvl 8 for 3,000 SP, and Hold Out++ is available at Bond Lvl 13 for 4,000 SP.
Lunar Brace+
What does it do? If unit initiates combat with a physical attack, deals extra damage=30% of foe’s Def.
How do you get it? Complete Eirika’s Paralogue, then reach Bond Lvl 13 and spend 5,000 SP.
Note: Lunar Brace is available at Bond Lvl 3,000 for 3,000 SP.
No Distractions
What does it do? Grants Crit+10 during combat with a foe that can’t counter.
How do you get it? Get to level 5 in the Sniper Advanced Class.
Resolve
What does it do? If unit’s HP is 75% or less after combat, grants Def/Res+7 as long as unit’s HP stays below 75%.
How do you get it? Complete Ike’s Paralogue, then reach Bond Lvl 18 and spend 2,000 SP.
Note: Resolve is available at Bond Lvl 5 for 1,000 SP.
Spell Harmony
What does it do? If unit initiates combat with a tome, grants Atk equal to the number of adjacent allies with tomes.
How do you get it? Get to level 5 in the Sage Advanced Class.
Unyielding++
What does it do? At start of player phase, if HP is 40% or less, restores 40% of unit’s max HP.
How do you get it? Complete Marth’s Paralogue, then reach Bond Lvl 18 and spend 300 SP.
Note: Unyielding is available at Bond Lvl 7 for 100 SP, and Unyielding+ is available at Bond Lvl 12 for 200 SP.
Vantage++
What does it do? If unit’s HP is 75% or less and foe initiates combat, unit can counter before foe’s first attack.
How do you get it? Complete Leif’s Paralogue, then reach Bond Lvl 18 and spend 2,000 SP.
Note: Vantage is available at Bond Lvl 5 for 500 SP, and Vantage+ is available at Bond Lvl 12 for 1,000 SP.
Wrath
What does it do? At start of combat, for each HP the unit has lost, grants Crit+1 during combat. (Max +30)
How do you get it? Complete Ike’s Paralogue, then reach Bond Lvl 13 and spend 2,000 SP.
