Sega announced that Hatsune Miku: Colorful Stage, known in Japan as Project Sekai, will be the inspiration for an anime movie adaptation titled Project Sekai The Movie: Kowareta Sekai to Utaenai Miku. The movie will release in Japan on January 17, 2025. [Thanks, Game Watch!]
Studio P.A. Works is in charge of animating the movie, with Hiroyuki Hata acting as director. Yoko Yonaiyama will write the script and animation director Yuki Akiyama will also be in charge of character designs. More information will appear on September 27, 2024 during the fourth anniversary broadcast for Hatsune Miku: Colorful Stage/Project Sekai.
The title of the movie roughly translates to “The Broken World and Miku Who Can’t Sing.” The announcement of the movie appeared during the recent 10th official news broadcast for the Hatsune Miku: Colorful Stage mobile game. A teaser trailer of the anime movie appeared featuring Miku and various other Project Sekai characters.
