Crypton Future Media announced a collaboration project between Hatsune Miku and Pusheen. The first visual by Japanese illustrator Choke is available on the official Crypton Future Media Twitter.
This project is part of MikuWorldCollab, in which Hatsune Miku and popular IPs collaborate in a series of illustrations, LINE stamps, and goods. In January 2021, Miku had a collaboration with “Over Action Rabbit,” who is a LINE and Kakao Talk sticker character popular in Asia. There is currently no concrete release date for merchandise or digital content.
In a press release, Crypton Future Media expressed its intention to continue working on collaborations with the international market in mind. While Miku has had many collaborations in the past, such as with Alolan Vulpix in 2020, this is the first time Miku will collaborate with an American IP.
Pusheen is a character created by Claire Belton and Andrew Duff, and first appeared on their website “Everyday Cute” in May 2010. While the character of Pusheen is fictional, she is based off of a cat that Claire Belton grew up with. Pusheen became more popular and recognized in 2013 after Facebook stickers of the character became available. Today, there is a wide range of merchandise and content featuring the gray tabby.
MikuWorldCollab projects will feature goods and LINE stamps, which will release at a later date in 2021.
