Hatsune Miku is turning 16 years old this summer, and Crypton announced a new celebration event as part of the festivities. The Hatsune Miku 16th Anniversary Celebration will be held in honor of the virtual idol singer. Though her birthday is officially on August 31, 2023, the large-scale exhibition begins on August 5, 2023, and will run through September 10, 2023. Niconico is hosting the Hatsune Miku exhibition in Tokorozawa Sakura Town in Tokorozawa City, Saitama, Japan. The only dates the exhibition won’t be available to the public will be the first, third, and fifth Tuesdays of both months, with the exception of August 15, 2023. [Thanks, Dengeki Hobby!]
The exhibition will be at the EJ Anime Museum from 10am to 6pm JST daily. However, admission for the Hatsune Miku 16th Anniversary Celebration closes at 5:30 pm. Tickets will go on sale starting on Saturday, June 24, 2023 at around 10am JST.
Advance online tickets cost 2,000 yen (~$14) for general admission, 1,500 yen (~$11) for students, and it is free for younger children. The tickets cost significantly more if someone pays at the door.
If attendees want to nab the commemorative anniversary face towel, they’ll have to pay 2,500 yen (~$18). It will be available at the event while supplies last. The towel features a portrait view of Miku holding a bouquet of flowers with a 16 on it.
Additional goods will be on sale at the venue itself, where fans will have the chance to explore the world of Hatsune Miku’s music across the last 16 years and catch a glimpse to the future of the virtual idol.
The Hatsune Miku 16th Anniversary Celebration will run August 5, 2023 through September 10, 2023 in Japan. For her last anniversary, a $300 figure appeared.
