Harada Says Tekken 8 Closed Network Test Results ‘Were Better than Expected’

Bandai Namco released a new Tekken 8 interview from gamescom 2023. In it, Director Katsuhiro Harada and Producer Michael Murray both talked about different elements of the game. One of the interesting parts went over how the first test for it went. Both mentioned how well it ended up going when players had a chance to go hands-on. In particular, Harada noted the Tekken 8 Closed Network Test “actual results were better than expected.”

Here is Harada’s official statement on the data gathered from the Tekken 8 Closed Network Test.

What surprised me the most is that we were expecting a certain range of results before the CNT. I mean this is a positive surprise, as the actual results were better than expected and connection was stable.

For instance, regarding long-distance connectivity, we thought the network could be unstable between Europe and the US or between North America’s East and West coasts.

But actually, user feedback was good on this matter. And that was a very good surprise for us.

Here’s the full interview. Harada and Murray also discussed Arcade Mode, the story mode, character models, and how easy it will be for newcomers to get into the game.

At gamescom 2023, Bandai Namco also revealed the game’s release date and Arcade Quest mode.

We will see even more of Tekken 8 soon. Bandai Namco will feature it at the 2023 Tokyo Game Show. On September 22, 2023, there will be a talk show going over the title. It will also be playable at the company’s booth.

The Tekken 8 release date is January 26, 2024, and it will be on the PS5, Xbox Series X/S and PC.
