Hanya Teams Take Advantage of Burden in Honkai: Star Rail

Hanya, a Physical Harmony character who debuted in Honkai: Star Rail Version 1.5, works great as a support in hyper carry teams. On paper, she shares many similarities with Asta, but their differences will decide which to use.

To summarize the differences, Asta’s Ultimate affects the whole party and increases their SPD based on a flat value. At E5, she can give everyone an additional 57 SPD. Asta can also give everyone an ATK boost with her Talent, but it depends on how many stacks she has and she loses stacks every turn. Meanwhile, Hanya’s Ultimate can only target one ally but she can boost both ATK and SPD with it. Hanya’s SPD boost is less than Asta’s since it’s a percentage of Hanya’s SPD, but her ATK boost is far more impressive. At E5, she can boost 72% of the target’s attack. E0 is no slouch either, as even at the first level, it’s a respectable 36% ATK boost. Allies also deal more damage against enemies with Burden.

Here are the Best Teams for Hanya in Honkai: Star Rail

Typically, you want to run Hanya in a team where she can focus her Ultimate on one character. Her Skill is also useful for recovering Skill Points, making it easier to manage your SP economy. As a note though, she does not work as well with characters or teams that are unusually SP-hungry. For example, Tingyun or Yukong work far better as the Harmony for a Dan Heng Imbibitor Lunae hyper carry team. This is because Burden lets you recover 1 SP for every 2 attacks. This isn’t so bad if your hyper carry is Seele or Blade, but with Dan Heng IL, it’s kind of like slapping duct tape over a shark tank.

  • Dan Heng | Hanya | Yukong | Luocha
Hanya works well in tandem with another Harmony character. This is because her Skill gives some wiggle room so your attacker and support aren’t fighting for SP. Dan Heng only ever needs to consume one SP per turn (and can go without if he needs to) and Hanya’s Skill solves the biggest problem of using Yukong (it’s not feasible to always use her Skill). Luocha is a very SP-positive healer once you have his Field up.
  • Clara | Hanya | Silver Wolf | Natasha
This is a mono Physical team in which Silver Wolf serves as both the Nihility debuff support and the one who plants a Physical Weakness if she needs to. Clara would serve as both the main DPS and shielder, with Natasha providing the heals. Obviously, Hanya would be the support, not only to help replenish SP for Clara but also to boost how much damage she (Svarog) deals. You can also replace Clara with Argenti, Luka, or Trailblazer (Physical) depending on who you have or what enemies you’re facing.
  • Firefly | Hanya | Harmony Trailblazer | Gallagher
Hanya can work very well as a support for a Firefly hyper carry team. Not only can she help the party with their SP, but she can also provide ATK and SPD boosts to Firefly. Because there’s only one attacker in this team, you don’t have to worry too much about who gets the benefit of Hanya’s buffs. Gallagher and Harmony Trailblazer are the best sustain and support, respectively, for Firefly, which is why they’re here. However, you can replace Gallagher with SP-neutral or friendly options like Aventurine or Luocha.
  • Dan Heng Imbibitor Lunae | Yukong | Hanya | Luocha
As a note when running this party, you really have to be mindful of Yukong and Luocha. Yukong does not actually need to use her Skill in this comp because her very presence can help boost Dan Heng’s Imaginary DMG. Hanya can help to maintain a decent amount of SP, as well as help to boost his damage with his Ultimate. Like I said earlier, if you’re not careful with your SP, Hanya’s Skill is still not going to help you. You can also replace Yukong with other Harmony characters such as Bronya or Tingyun.
  • Seele | Asta | Hanya | Fu Xuan
You can replace Seele with another DPS such as Qingque if you want. Asta and Hanya can work together to give a significant SPD and ATK boost for your characters. As well, Hanya can also help to give more SP for you to work with via Burden. You can also replace Fu Xuan with an actual Abundance if you need.
  • Kafka | Asta | Hanya | Huohuo
While this team seems quite unorthodox on paper since none of the three supports are actually DoT inducers, the elements are all ones that can inflict DoT. Though this team can be difficult to use compared to a more dedicated DoT team, all three supports can benefit Kafka’s kit. Asta and Hanya can increase Kafka’s SPD if she doesn’t have enough, as well as increase her ATK (which she needs for DoT). This is a fairly SP-hungry team so Hanya’s presence can help to mitigate the loss.

Honkai: Star Rail is readily available on the Windows PC, PS5, and mobile devices. Hanya is always in the gacha of Honkai: Star Rail since she’s a 4-star.
