The Tekken franchise is almost synonymous with the Playstation brand. Ever since Sony’s first system Namco has continued to release new Tekken games for each console. So it isn’t really a surprise that Namco Bandai has Tekken: Dark Resurrection in the works. Dark Resurrection brings together 30+ characters with two brand new ones, Lili and Dragunov on one tiny UMD disc. Like Tekken 5 and before that Virtua Fighter 4: Evolution you can customize your character. By winning battles you can earn money to buy accessories, new outfits and to distinguish your character from hundreds of online ghosts. Tekken Dark Resurrection allows players to upload their characters as ghosts for other people to download via infrastructure mode. Even though they are controlled by AI, the ghosts pick up some player tendencies like how much to block and combo elements. Aside from this feature Tekken Dark Resurrection is Tekken. The demo did not display any significant slowdown and looks great on the PSP. If you’re a Tekken fan or this is the definitive Tekken game to pick up. Check out more screenshots of Tekken Dark Resurrection below and check back later this summer when we’ll have a full playtest.
