It feels like Publisher Hamster has been releasing a game on the Nintendo eShop almost every week for ages now, but in fact they’ve actually been doing so for 131 weeks straight, enough to set a new Guinness World Record.

The title of the record is “Most consecutive weeks of Nintendo eShop game releases” and they’ve managed to set the record with 131 consecutive weeks. The official announcement from Guinness World Record was announced at TGS 2019 over the weekend.
With continued releases from Hamster we can expect to see the number keep rising until they run out of software to publish, so it’ll be interesting to see how far they can take it.
Hamster was founded in November 1999 and has since then released hundreds of titles across multiple platforms, with many of them coming from the Arcade Archives and ACA NeoGeo brands.
Congratulations, Hamster!
