The most recent title to be released is VS. Mahjong from Nintendo. Like other games in the VS. series, it’s an arcade version of the Famicom title and was released exclusively in Japan. The game only allows two players to play against each other, which is two players less than in actual Mahjong. Arcade Archives VS. Mahjong released February 21, 2020, and it is now available on the Nintendo Switch.

Meanwhile, upcoming Nintendo Switch Arcade Archives releases include Life Force (Salamander), Flak Attack, and Wrecking Crew. These three titles will release in the near future.

There are newly-announced upcoming games for both PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch. These include SNK’s P.O.W. Prisoner of War, as well as Jaleco’s Naughty Boy and Formation Z. The licenses for Jaleco titles are currently owned by City Connection. Penguin Wars, which was previously announced in December 2019, is also still in the works. There is currently no release window for these particular titles.

The Arcade Archives line has been going since 2014 and began on the PlayStation 4. Since the Switch launch, games have also released on the Nintendo eShop weekly. In 2019, Hamster set a Guiness World Record for continued releases.
