Gust Dev Team Would Say ‘Yes’ to an Atelier Ryza Super Smash Bros Ultimate Appearance

Lots of Atelier Ryza 2: Lost Legends & the Secret Fairy interviews dropped on October 7, 2020. (This includes Siliconera’s own!) One of them got into crossover potential. Nintenderos asked about a possible Atelier Ryza Smash Bros. appearance. While Gust Brand Manager and Atelier Ryza 1 and 2 Producer Junzo Hosoi said he didn’t think Nintendo had any plans, Gust would say “yes” to her being added to the game.

Here is the exact response from Hosoi in Spanish, from Nintenderos’ interview:

No creo que estemos incluidos en los planes de Nintendo. Sin embargo, si nos preguntaran si querríamos que fuese incluida, pienso que todo el equipo de desarrollo respondería con un gran “SÍ…”

In English, Hosoi’s response to a possible Ryza Smash Bros. Ultimate appearance translates to the following:

I don’t think we’re part of Nintendo’s plans. But if they asked us if we would like her to be included, I think the whole development team would respond with a big, "YES."

Currently, there is no Gust representation in Super Smash Bros Ultimate. However, third-party characters have appeared as Spirits or as costumes. For example, Resident Evil and Warframe Spirits showed up, and both Bomberman and Travis Touchdown Mii Fighter costumes are joining alongside Minecraft’s Steve and Alex.

Super Smash Bros. Ultimate is available for the Nintendo Switch. Atelier Ryza: Ever Darkness & the Secret Hideout is available for the Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, and PC, while Atelier Ryza 2: Lost Legends & the Secret Fairy will come to the Nintendo Switch and PlayStation 4, in Japan on December 3, 2020. It will show up on the Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, and PC in other regions in Winter 2020.
