Like Gust’s games? Like the music in those games? Game Sound Station might be for you. This WiiWare app gives users access to a library of music from a range of Gust titles like Ar Tonelico and Mana Khemia 2.
It costs 1,000 Wii Points ($10) to purchase the application. Along with the Game Sound Station you get access to Atelier Series Vocal Collection Volkslied and Atelier Series & Mana Khemia Vocal Collection Volkslied 2. If you want to listen to more music you need to purchase a subscription ticket. The service costs 300 Wii Points ($3) for one day, 500 Wii Points ($5) for three days, and 1,000 Wii Points ($10) for one month. CDs from Gust, Team Entertainment, Frontier Works, Supersweep, and Hats Unlimited will be online for you to stream. So far the list of CDs are mostly soundtracks to Gust published games with the exception of the Agarest: Generations of War which is from Compile Heart.
While streaming music users can adjust reverb, echo, and chorus. If you’re listing to a vocal song you can gloss over the lyrics too. Gust should make this compatible with a USB microphone so users can sing along to the Ar Tonelico 2 theme song.
Game Sound Station is scheduled for release on June 9 in Japan, and given all the licensing issues this will probably stay in Japan.
