The Prologue will tell the story of Elnora Samaya. She will become the test pilot of Gundam Lfrith, a prototype mobile suit equipped with multiple GUND-BIT weapons that can also form a shield. Mamiko Noto will provide the Japanese voiceover for the prologue’s protagonist.

Elnora is married to the Gundam’s development manager, Nadim Samaya, and they have a daughter named Ericht Samaya. The four-year-old girl has many similar features to the grown-up protagonist Suletta Mercury in the main show.

Bandai Namco had previously shown The Witch From Mercury Prologue through several screening events. One of them took place at the San Diego Comic-Con on July 21, 2022. The global broadcast will be accessible to everyone who could not attend the physical events.

Mobile Suit Gundam: The Witch From Mercury Prologue will be available globally on September 1, 2022, and in Japan on September 4, 2022. The main show will air in October 2022, with GundamInfo promising a global simulcast at the same time as Japan.
