The Gundam Metaverse has temporarily suspended downloads of its client files. Bandai Namco will announce on its website and Twitter account when you can get them again. While they did not state the exact reason for the suspension, it’s likely due to the CAD files from the Gundam Metaverse project leaking to the public.
On October 18, 2023, some of the limited Gunpla that was supposed to only be accessible through the Metaverse project appeared on social media. Bandai Namco had not correctly encrypted or secured the files. This made it easy for people to grab them and leak them online. These files show figures and parts, which means that with them, people could 3D print out their own Gunpla.
Bandai Namco first revealed the Metaverse project in 2022. It’s a giant community for fans of Gundam, whether it’s Gunpla, games, or the anime. Some of the projected ideas for the Gundam Metaverse included C2C business transactions and speaking with AI characters. You would need a Bandai Namco ID to register. Public access to the Metaverse is still open, and it’ll close on October 23, 2023.
Users are temporarily unable to download client files for Gundam Metaverse. Bandai Namco will inform the public via official channels when downloads are available again.
