Bandai and Evolving G announced that the life-size moving Gundam attraction at Gundam Factory Yokohama will be getting an extension for one year. It will now be open until March 31, 2024. The attraction located at Yamashita Pier in Yokohama was originally planned to close at the end of March 2023. The attraction will offer a nighttime illuminated performance during spring break. The ongoing COVID-19 pandemic affected the number of people that have been able to attend the attraction during 2022, from both locals and overseas visitors, due to the difficulty of domestic and international travel. Because of this, Bandai and Evolving G consulted with the city of Yokohama and other parties in order to extend the attraction for one more year.
This is the second time that a Gundam Factory Yokohama time extension appeared, with its first one-year extension announced on February 2022. Gundam Factory Yokohama was originally slated to launch in October 2020, but had to be postponed to December 2020 due to the pandemic. It’s been open for people to attend and visit ever since.
The life-size Mobile Suit unit at Gundam Factory Yokohama will remain open to the public until March 31, 2024. The most recent Gundam anime series is The Witch from Mercury, which is available on Crunchyroll.
