The first episode of Gundam Breaker Battlogue is now available. It appears to be trying something new for the Battlogue sub-series, which is serialization.
Check it out below at the official GundamInfo Youtube channel.
Based on the Gundam Breaker line of games, Gundam Breaker Battlogue sets up a story to unite several characters from the Gundam Breaker 3 and Gundam Breaker Mobile (known overseas as Gundam Battle: Gunpla Warfare) games. Gundam Breaker 3 character Misa Satsukino pilots her Blazing Gundam against Gundam Breaker Mobile character Rindo Kuzunoha in her Enzian.
The episode ends on a cliffhanger. Misa’s Gunpla is seemingly “captured” by a form of ransomware that locks its limbs in virtual runners. The runners project a message into the game interface. They demand Misa bring her teammate Takuma Nagitsuji to an event called GB Fest. Takuma is implied to be “canon” identity of the player character from Gundam Breaker 3.
The Gundam Battlogue sub-series was originally conceived as a series of short web-exclusive animated releases to promote the Gundam Build Fighters Try anime. The episodes, approximately 11 minutes long, paired up characters from the series with each other in new, customized mobile suit designs. The Battlogue series later expanded. There are special episodes for Gundam Build Divers, and now, Gundam Breaker.
Gundam Breaker‘s status as a series also means more integration for Gundam Breaker Battlogue. As with other Battlogue series, Bandai is releasing a round of model kits based on the customized designs seen in the anime. However, those same Gunpla are also making their way into Gundam Breaker Mobile as playable gunpla. Players will be able to earn the in-game gunpla, then mix and match their parts to come up with their own custom creations. Episodes of Gundam Breaker Battlogue are also viewable through the Gundam Breaker Mobile and Gundam Battle: Gunpla Warfare smartphone apps.
Gundam Breaker Battlogue is streaming on GundamInfo. Gundam Breaker 3 is available for the PS4 and PS Vita. Its sequel New Gundam Breaker is available for the PS4 and PC. Gundam Breaker Mobile is available on iOS and Android as Gundam Battle: Gunpla Warfare.
