GREE’s New RPG, Saga of Fantasm: A, Has Square Enix Talent Behind It

GREE are preparing to launch a brand new free-to-play RPG, titled Saga of Fantasm: A for iOS and Android devices, and this one has Square Enix talent behind it. Toshiro Tsuchida, who was the battle director of Final Fantasy X and Final Fantasy XIII, is directing the game. Tsuchida left Square Enix in 2011.

Meanwhile, the game’s producer is Takeshi Arakawa, who is also an ex-Square Enix employee. Arakawa served as supervising director on Dissidia: Final Fantasy. Finally, Nobuo Uematsu is composing the music for Saga of Fantasm: A.

Story-wise, Saga of Fantasm: A sounds like your typical “boy meets girl and goes on journey to discover their destiny” setup, but unlike a lot of mobile RPGs, it actually looks like it has a decent budget behind it. The game will have 3D visuals and you can find the first screenshots below.
