Granblue Fantasy Versus Rising Gets Vikala, Sandalphon DLC

At Evo 2024, Cygames announced Vikala and Sandalphon DLC for Granblue Fantasy Versus Rising alongside the Versusia release date. The rollout of new characters starts on August 20, 2024, which is when Versusia and the 1.50 update appears.

First, Versusia is one of at least eight confirmed additions for Granblue Fantasy Versus Rising in 1.50. She’ll cost $7.99 when purchased alone. About the first minute of the Evo 2024 trailer was dedicated to showing her gameplay footage.

The announcement trailer then went over many of the things we can expect in the 1.50 update. You can see the list of things coming to the game on August 20, 2024 below:

  • Grand Master Rank
  • Major Battle and Character Adjustments
  • New Battle Pass
  • New Grand Bruise Game Mode
  • New Online Lobby Minigame
  • New Stage
  • New Story Update called “When Tomorrow Comes”
  • Versusia DLC

At the 2:27 mark, future Granblue Fantasy Versus Rising DLC characters Vikala and Sandalphon came up. Vikala, who is one of the Twelve Divine Generals and Guardian Deity of the North, will be the last Character Pass 1 add-on. She’s something of a magical girl, as she’s a human who happens to be a part of the group. As for Sandalphon, it seems the Fifth Primarch will lead Character Pass Season 2. He’s the person who appeared when that teaser came up.

Here is the full Evo 2024 trailer. Note that it starts with a major spoiler for Granblue Fantasy Versus Rising for those who haven’t beaten the campaign:

Granblue Fantasy Versus: Rising is available on the PS4, PS5, and PC. Versusia will become a playable character on August 20, 2024.
