Sometimes, more serious series get comedic spin-offs. For example, Attack on Titan has Attack on Titan: Junior High. Grand Blues is essentially a gag comic with four-panel installments that plays up sillier elements of the series and can go to extremes with characterizations. There are over 1,500 “issues” of this 4-koma series.

For example, one of the Grand Blue anime promotional trailers starred Vyrn. Except it wasn’t normal Vyrn. It was one that was suddenly and incredibly buff.

At the moment, the first episode is on Crunchyroll. People who don’t subscribe can see a two minute clip showing one of the characters’ adventures during “In These Grand Blue Skies.”

Granblue Fantasy is available on Android and Apple iOS devices and in browsers. Granblue Fantasy Versus is available for the PlayStation 4 and PC. Grand Blues is now airing on Crunchyroll on Thursdays.
