Sony have officially announced Gran Turismo 6, slated for release this holiday on the PlayStation 3. The new game will feature new cars and tracks, as well as an overhauled user interface, Sony say.
Update: A demo for Gran Turismo 6 will be available this July, Sony have confirmed.
The full car line-up will be over 1,200 and will include cars from Gran Turismo 5. 33 tracks will be present in the game, with 71 different layouts available. One of the new tracks will be the UK’s Silverstone Circuit. New cars and tracks will also be added to the game via DLC in the future.
“Enhancements and improvements also extend to a much-improved course maker function, which will provide several kilometers of gorgeous scenery, including the magnificent backdrop of Andalucía,” Sony’s announcement reads. “The course maker will also include a new GPS data feature, which will increase the freedom of track creation in the game.”
Finally, Sony say that Gran Turismo 6 will also feature connectivity with other devices, although they haven’t mentioned just which devices these will be. More news on the game will be shared at this year’s E3 and Gamescom events.
