Sony Santa Monica Studio took to Twitter to let people know what to expect from God of War PS5 compatibility. Essentially, people have an assurance that they can pick up where they left off in the 2018 release, as save files will be compatible. However, there will also be an option called Favor Performance that allows people to hit 60fps.
This essentially means that playing God of War on a PS5 will be akin to playing it on a PS4 Pro. On a standard PS4, the game runs at 30fps. On the PS4 Pro, Favor Performance and Favor Resolution options are available, with the former offering up to 60fps and the latter 4K.
A follow-up tweet also went over what people can expect from God of War III Remastered on a PS5. It is compatible, as folks might imagine. Also, PS4 save files for it can be transferred to and used on a PS5.
As a reminder, Sony already went over what the PS4 to PS5 data transfer will look like. In the case of save files, someone could quickly use PlayStation Plus to upload data to the cloud and transfer it over, though external storage, LAN and WiFi options will also be available.
God of War and God of War III Remastered are available on the PlayStation 4.
