The God Eater series gives players a morphing weapon to fight monsters. It changes from a melee weapon like a sword or hammer to a shield when you want to defend. The God Eater can also switch into a mouth that devours Aragami and a gun.
This post is all about God Eater 2’s different gun forms. Players can choose the type of barrel they want for their weapon’s gun form.
The Shotgun has short range, but it’s quite powerful if you can close distance between you and your target another way. You can move while firing the shotgun or press R+O to activate rush fire, a special move where you dash forward guns blazing.
In contrast to the Shotgun, the Assault gun is weak in power, but has rapid fire. Like the Shotgun you can move while firing the Assault gun. R+O does a backstep so you can quickly dodge an attack while returning fire.
The Blast gun shoots rockets, which makes it the choice of weapon for players that don’t mind long periods of cooldown time in exchange for super powerful attacks. You can speed up your firing rate by using OP (Oracle Points) and triggering an Oracle Reserve which gives you rapid fire until your OP runs out.
Sniper is for players that like to stay far away from a fight while dealing deadly amounts of damage. The gun’s long reach and scope lets you target weak points to do critical damage. Sniper gives players a Stealth Field skill that cloaks you from an Aragami’s sense of sight and hearing. This lets you hide safely, but the field gradually dissipate and immediately break if you fire or transform your weapon into a sword.
God Eater 2 is slated for release this year on PSP and PlayStation Vita.
