Gigantamax Meowth and Eevee Heading to Pokemon Sword and Shield Raids Too

This article is over 4 years old and may contain outdated information

It turns out Gigantamax Pikachu won’t be the only former exclusive showing up for everyone in Pokemon Sword and Shield raids. Gigantamax Meowth and Eevee will be making their debut in May 2020 too! Each one of these characters will take turns appearing in raids, and people who show up each week should hopefully have enough time to catch ‘em all. [Thanks, Serebii!]

The Gigantamax Eevee will be the second special Pokemon Sword and Shield raid. The character will first appear on May 19, 2020, then leave on May 26, 2020. Previously, people needed to have Pokemon: Let’s Go, Eevee! save data on their Nintendo Switch to get the character.

The Gigantamax Meowth will then show up on May 26, 2020 and stick around until June 1, 2020. Previously, anyone who bought Pokemon Sword and Shield before January 15, 2020 were able to download the character as a “gift.”

In addition to the Gigantamax Meowth and Eevee Max Raid dates, we know how long Gigantamax Pikachu will be around. The official Japanese Pokemon Twitter account says the character will show up until May 19, 2020. That’s when it will swap places with Gigantamax Eevee.

Pokemon Sword and Shield are available for the Nintendo Switch. Also, huge Gigantamax Pikachu and Meowth plush toys will launch in Japan in October 2020.
