The final two announcements at the Limited Run Games 2023 showcase were the return of Gex Trilogy and Tomba. Both games are coming to the company’s Carbon Engine. As a result, the Gex games will be on the Switch, PS4, PS5, Xbox Series X, and PC. Meanwhile Tomba will show up on the Switch, PS4, PS5, and PC. There’s no release window for either one.
First, here’s the trailer for Gex Trilogy. The collection will include Gex, Gex: Enter the Gecko, and Gex 3: Deep Cover Gecko.
As for Tomba, you can see the trailer announcing it below. No gameplay appears, as it is just an animated movie.
It’s been years since either of these games and series appeared. While Gex‘s return is entirely new though, we did see Tomba come back again briefly in a form. Monkeypaw Games released both it and the sequel digitally via the PlayStation Store.
Lots of reveals came up during this latest presentation. For example, Limited Run Games announced a Castlevania Advance Collection physical release. WayForward brought up Shantae Advance: Risky Revolution for the GBA and a Clock Tower remaster.
