One of the NGPX announcements had to do with an older game that has a fresh look. GlitchPitch has been working on Idol Manager since its successful 2018 Kickstarter. While a lot has happened since then, such as a beta with a playable female manager, there are two big takeaways from the event. First, Playism is now publishing the game. Second, there’s a new Idol Manager trailer showcasing what you’ll do in the game.
As a refresher, in Idol Manager the player finds themselves with the opportunity to pull together a music group. You begin with an empty floor in a building and an opportunity. You then try to make your group and its members better, as well as deal with different relationships. There will even be mod support in the full game, so people can add new idols or events.
Here’s the full NGPX Idol Manager trailer. It is described through the eyes as some of the idols who will be a part of their group, going over their dreams, your possible actions, different events, and opportunities that can come up as you start to succeed. There’s even a part looking at possible relationships.
Idol Manager is available on PCs via Steam early access right now. It is also in development for the Nintendo Switch.
