Genshin Impact World Level 9 Appears in 5.0 Update

HoYoVerse announced that when the 5.0 version of Genshin Impact arrives, those of us who get to Adventurer Rank 58 can then go up to World Level 9. If someone does, there will be additional perks and rewards for those efforts.

The current Genshin Impact World Level and Adventurer Rank caps are 8 and 60, and so far only the World Level cap is set to increase and go up to 9. HoYoVerse noted someone will need to get to AR58 to unlock that new Ascension Quest. The teaser image that appeared alongside it noted someone will get 100 Primogems, two Acquaint Fates to pull on the Standard Wish banner, and 50,000 Mora for completing that quest.

Taking the Genshin Impact World Level up to 9 will increase enemy levels, boss rewards, and basic drops. At the moment, we unlock World Levels 7 and 9 after Ascension Quest 4. Getting to 9 will increase enemy levels by about 10. Since the current highest cap is in the 90s, this could mean we see foes in the 100s. The Abyss Mages, Kairagis, Nobushis, Ruin Graders, Ruin Guards, Ruin Hunters, and Specters’ drop rates for items will all increase after getting to that level. Also, fighting bosses will get you three or more Character Level-Up Materials.

As a reminder, going up to World Level 9 will limit who can play with you. Only other people at that same level would be able to visit your World. However, you’d still be able to go to the Worlds of any other players at 9 or lower.

Genshin Impact is available for the PS4, PS5, PC, and mobile devices. The 5.0 Special Program will air on August 16, 2024. The game will appear at gamescom 2024.
