Genshin Impact Version 1.6 Interactive Preview Site Goes Live

With its release date set as June 9, 2021, the Genshin Impact 1.6 update is just around the corner, and miHoYo has opened up an interactive preview site to prepare players for Midsummer Island Adventure. The company opened up a similar site for Version 1.5. miHoYo revealed quite a bit of the information on the site over the past few days, but this provides a way to keep track of everything new.

First off, there are some Live2D models of Barbara and Jean in their upcoming summer outfits, which miHoYo showed off during the preview stream. The second tab shows off new weapons. One of them, a four-star catalyst called Dodoco Tales, will be a reward from the beach volleyball-esque Kaboomball Kombat event. The next weapon banner will feature a five-star sword called Freedom-Sworn (which will likely be Kazuha’s character weapon) and a four-star bow called Mitternachts Waltz (which seems designed for Fischl). The site does not mention them, but the upcoming character banners will have Kazuha and Klee at their helms.

The last tab on the website showcases five upcoming events. There is the aforementioned Kaboomball Kombat event, as well as the Echoing Tales event where you can obtain summer outfits for Jean and Barbara. There are also combat-focused events called Legend of the Vagabond Sword and Never-Ending Battle. Lastly, a new world boss called Maguu Kenki will show up in-game.

Another new update in Version 1.6 that the site does not mention is the function to place characters you own in your Serenitea Pot. This is a way to passively raise Character Companionship Experience.

Version 1.6 of Genshin Impact will launch on June 9, 2021, and the preview site is currently available. Genshin Impact is playable on the PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Windows PC, and mobile devices. A Nintendo Switch version is in development.
