Genshin Impact: Lyney Trial Answers Guide

In the 4.0 Genshin Impact Archon Quest, you defend the new Fontaine character Lyney in a trial. The tense mission will have you going head to head with the Hydro Archon Furina herself, as you will need to use the correct evidence to prove the magician’s innocence. It’s time for the Traveler to put on their best Ace Attorney impression! Here are all Lyney trial answers in Genshin Impact.

What are the correct Lyney trial answers in Genshin Impact?

“In the Lies Cast Shadows Under Gathered Lights” quest, the Traveler and Paimon will have to participate in a trial to defend five-star character Lyney at Fontaine’s Opera Epiclese. The Genshin Impact trial is broken into two phases: the Refute Stage and the Logic chain stage. The whole show kicks off with Furina making an accusation, and then it’s up to you to prove her wrong.

However, it should be noted that during the second Logic Chain section, you have to actually fail first before you can progress. So don’t panic!

Below, I will break down the correct answers for each phase of the trial.

Lyney Trial Answers Refute Stage #1

• Refute: Lyney attacked Halsey. Evidence: Lyney’s Statement.
• Refute: Lyney kidnapped Halsey. Evidence: The voice in the Oratrice Core Chamber (Lyney heard a voice).
• Refute: Lyney knocked Cowell out. Evidence: The Young Lady’s Clothes.

Furina will break down her accusation with a circle graph made up of bubbles for each Lyney event. Although it may default with a different action, make sure to select “Lyney Attacked Halsey” first to kick things off. Following that, select “Lyney kidnapped Halsey” and then “Lyney Knocked Cowell Out.” Once you have identified the loopholes with evidence for each of these three accusations, the trial will automatically transition to the first Logic Chain.

Lyney Trial Answers Logic Chain #1

• How did the culprit trigger the onstage accident?: Gardes Investigation Report.
• What was the original plan for the performance?: The Magic Trick.
• What evidence is there that the selected audience member was involved in the incident?: The Young Lady’s Clothes.
• Who is the True Culprit?: Cowell.

During the logic chain, you will need to pick the right evidence in the correct order again. So make sure you select “Gardes Investigation Report,” “The Magic Trick,” “The Young Lady’s Clothes,” and “Cowell” in order. You will then receive a Hypothesis Correct prompt which will trigger a cutscene. Instead of going back to refutation, however, the trial will be moved to a second logic chain.

Lyney Trial Answers Logic Chain #2

As mentioned earlier, you must fail Logic Chain 2 at first to unlock the correct answers. So for the sake of moving past this part, select “Lyney’s Statement,” “Strange Sound During the Magic Show,” “Cowell,” and “Young Lady’s Dress.”  After getting the “Hypothesis Incorrect” prompt, the game will force you to select “Tunnel Vent” to fail the section again. The trial will now move to a cutscene, where you will unlock the correct “Broken Flower Vase” answer. Below is finally the correct answers to Logic Chain 2:

• How can we envisage Lyney as having been unable to interfere with the crime?: Lyney’s Statement.
• How can I prove there was an altercation at the tunnel?: Strange Sound During the Magic Show.
• Who is the primary suspect currently?: The Deceased’s Identity (Cowell).
• Where did the missing Halsey go?: Broken Flower Vase (This answer needs to be unlocked by failing the Logic Chain twice).

Lyney Trial Answers Logic Chain #3

• Who is the prime suspect currently?: The Deceased’s Identity (Cowell).
• What item did the culprit use to control the timing of the dissolution?: Dropped Hook Rope.
• What item did the culprit use to dissolve Halsey?: Water from the Primordial Sea.
• What item did the culprit use to hide the mechanism behind the crime?: Audience-Side Magic Box Structure.

The third and final logic chain doesn’t have any tricks up its sleeves, so you just need to select the correct evidence. The correct order is “The Deceased’s Identity,” “Dropped Hook Rope,” “Water from the Primordial Sea,” and “Audience-Side Magic Box Structure.” Another lengthy cutscene will now play, moving the trial to its final refute stage phase.

Lyney Trial Answers Refute Stage #2

• Refute: Halsey dissolved. Evidence: Strange Sound During the Magic Show.
• Refute: Infighting Between Lyney and Cowell. Evidence: Broken Flower Vase.
• Refute: Lyney knocked Cowell out. Evidence: The Young Lady’s Clothes.

The final section of the trial is another refute stage after Furina desperately launches one last attempt to accuse Lyney of a crime. Like the first stage, you must select the correct order of events and provide evidence starting with “Halsey Dissolved.” After that, choose “Infighting Between Lyney” and “Lyney knocked Cowell out” and identify the right loopholes for both of them to bring this case to a close.

The trial is now officially over, as Neuvillette and the Oratrice Mecanique d’Analyse Cardinale will announce that Lyney is innocent. The Traveler and Paimon succeeded in their debut as lawyers. But more importantly, we got to watch the smug Hydro Archon Furina slump away in defeat. It certainly makes the lengthy trial worth it! Defeating the trial will also complete the “Act I – Prelude of Blancheur and Noirceur” Archon Quest.
