The Google Play store holds annual awards, giving users a chance to vote for the app, book, game and movie they found was the best and most influential, with the company offering an array of picks from each category. Well, the nominees for 2020 are in, and one should look incredibly familiar. Genshin Impact is a Google Play User’s Choice option in the gaming category. Voting closes on November 23, 2020, and Google announces the winners on December 1, 2020.

Spoiler alert, but voting for a game lets you know how it’s currently performing. I made Genshin Impact my Google Play User’s Choice pick at 8:15am CT on November 10, 2020 and was told by an automated message that it was in second place.

Genshin Impact isn’t the only one of the ten Google Play User’s Choice award nominees in games that might look familiar. The tower-defense game Arknights, which comes from Chinese developer Hypergryph and is published by Azur Lane publisher Yostar, is one of its competitors. So is Netmarble’s RPG, The Seven Deadly Sins: Grand Cross.

In other Genshin Impact news, the Childe Tartaglia banner is about to appear alongside the 1.1 update. To help people further prepare, miHoYo shared another trailer that had Childe narrating a letter to his sister in Snezhnaya while attacking some enemies in Liyue.

Genshin Impact is available for the PlayStation 4, PC, and both Android and Apple iOS devices. It will also come to the Nintendo Switch. The Google Play User’s Choice voting ends on November 23, 2020. The 2019 winner in games was Call of Duty: Mobile.
