Genshin Impact 2.7 Special Program Coming, Release Date Shared

After a delay due to current world events, HoYoVerse revealed the Genshin Impact 2.7 Special Program and update release dates. Both fall in May 2022. The Special Program stream will appear first on May 20, 2022 at 5 a.m. PT/8 a.m. ET/2 p.m. CET. Then the update itself will follow on May 31, 2022. The company also offered a possible release window for the Genshin Impact 2.8 update.

As usual, the Genshin Impact 2.7 Special Program will air on Twitch. The archive will show up on the official YouTube channel later. We already knew Yelan would appear as the new five-star in this update. The teaser image for the presentation also shows Itto, suggesting rumors about his rerun banner are true. The update also confirmed this update will only be available for six week until 2.8 releases.

As for Genshin Impact 2.8, that is expected to appear on July 13, 2022. Since Yelan and Shinobu are expected to be the new characters for 2.7, it seems Heizou could be a part of 2.8.

In the meantime, this means another week of free delay compensation rewards. As a result of circumstances, HoYoVerse has been sending players virtual care packages in-game every Wednesday. On May 25, 2022, folks should get another “letter” with a Fragile Resin, 7 Hero’s Wits, 16 Mystic Enhancement Ores, 400 Primogems, and 120,000 Mora.

Genshin Impact is available for the PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, PC, and mobile devices. It will also come to the Nintendo Switch. The Genshin Impact 2.7 Special Program will air on May 20, 2022, and be followed by the update on May 31, 2022.
