The long-rumored update to Nintendo Switch Online is here, bringing Nintendo 64 and Sega Genesis games to the subscription service. The premium add-on, Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack, will include access to the two consoles’ libraries. The service will debut in late October.
Along with the Genesis’ and N64’s Nintendo Switch Online debuts, the company will be offering special controllers for subscribers to purchase. The controllers are replicas of the original Genesis and N64 pads. Each will cost $49.99. The controllers will be available for sale at a later date.
The Nintendo 64 and Sega Genesis are the third and fourth platforms to be added to the service. Nintendo Entertainment System and Famicom games were part of the launch in September 2018, and Super Nintendo Entertainment System games were added a year later.
Screenshots of the game and photos of the controllers can be found on the Nintendo Switch Online site.
