Gamevice, a company that makes controller attachments for smartphones and tablets, has filed claims against Nintendo over the Nintendo Switch (called “certain portable gaming console systems with attachable handheld controllers and components” in the claims). The US International Trade Commission has agreed to look into the issue. [Thanks, Reuters!]
This is not the first time Gamevice has filed claims, as they did so last August as well, though they ended up dropping the case. Gamevice is currently requesting a cease and desist for the Nintendo Switch, which means that imports would have to be halted.
The US International Trade Commission commented that while they are investigating the issue, a decision has not been made regarding the merits of the claims.
Nintendo has “nothing to announce on this topic”.
