This article is over 4 years old and may contain outdated information

The GameStop Thanksgiving plans have been announced for the holiday shopping alongside the reveal of its 2020 Holiday Gift Guide. This year, the retailer won’t be open on Thanksgiving day. It falls on November 26, 2020 this year. However, it hasn’t announced Black Friday 2020 plans yet and also confirmed it will offer same day delivery as an option for folks buying online.

Over the past few years, GameStop has shifted its stance back and forth when it comes to whether or not it will be closed on Thanksgiving. For example, in 2015 it made a big deal about how the company “believed strongly” that people have the holiday off. (It did the same in 2016.) Then in 2017, it shifted to being open on Thanksgiving again and continued to do so in 2018 and 2019.

As for Thanksgiving Day alternatives, the official press release noted that people could shop online or in its app. That’s when it also confirmed people can pick same day delivery in some areas, pick up at store, or normal shipping when shopping online and go with traditional payment options, a pay later option, and a new rent to own offer.

GameStop will be closed on Thanksgiving this November 26, 2020. While its Black Friday 2020 plans haven’t been revealed, it looks like it will be business as usual on November 27, 2020.
