We now know a little bit more about the gamescom 2021 Opening Night Live presentation. First, it will be held on August 24, 2021. This falls in line with last year’s presentation, which appeared on August 27, 2020. We also know the host. Once again, Geoff Keighley will be responsible for it.
Here’s Keighley’s Twitter announcement, which included an animated logo for the event.
It’s official: I am returning to produce and host @gamescom Opening Night Live.
We’ll see you live on Tuesday, August 24 for a spectacular showcase event filled with video game announcements, news and surprises.

While Keighley did confirm there will be announcements, he didn’t offer a general idea of how many will appear just yet. The 2020 presentation showed off over 20 titles. Among them were details about titles like Crash Bandicoot 4, Dragon Age 4, DOOM ETERNAL’s The Ancient Gods add-on, Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart, and a new Sam and Max game. Primarily, the focus at that time was on new content for existing game or better looks at features or elements of games we already knew were on the way in 2020 and beyond.
gamescom Opening Night LIve 2021 will be held on August 24, 2021.
