After the Nintendo Direct ended on February 8, 2023, Nintendo uploaded several retro Game Boy and GBA games onto the Nintendo Switch Online service. As a reminder, this is a paid service. So these classics will not be available unless you have an active subscription to Nintendo Switch Online.
The list of games are:
- Alone in the Dark: The New Nightmare
- Game & Watch Gallery 3
- Gargoyle’s Quest
- Kirby’s Dream Land
- Kuru Kuru Kururin
- Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga
- Mario Kart: Super Circuit
- Metroid 2: Return of Samus
- Super Mario Advance 4: Super Mario Bros. 3
- Super Mario Land 2 – 6 Golden Coins
- Tetris
- The Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening DX
- The Legend of Zelda: The Minish Cap
The above games are the ones that are readily available to download and play. More games will appear in the future. So far, we can see that future games include Kirby Tilt ‘n Tumble and the original Fire Emblem. The Game Boy and GBA games will be joining other retro ones on Nintendo Switch Online, which already has a library of games from past consoles such as the Sega Genesis and the N64.
Here’s the official trailer.
Game Boy and GBA games, starting from the above ones, will be available to play on the Nintendo Switch for those who have a Nintendo Switch Online account.
