Gal Metal, the free-rhythm game about a high school band fending off aliens with the power of metal, has received a new demo version on the Nintendo eShop. The game released last month for Nintendo Switch. [Thanks, 4Gamer!]
The demo will allow players to try out the gameplay and story up until the end of Chapter 1. The game utilizes a scoring system that is based more on following the rhythm and improvisation rather than the conventional method of following a beatmap, which we reported on previously.
Apart from the demo, Version 1.01 has also been released, adding a few new options to the game. Apart from Drum Mode, the current mode of moving the Joy-Cons as if you were hitting drums, a new Shake mode has been added for casual play or beginners who find drum-hitting motions to be hard. In this mode, shaking the Joy-Con will constitute a hit.
Furthermore, Joy-Con sensitivity can now be adjusted from 0-20, with the default set as 10.
In Practice Mode, players can now choose to either practice the rhythm by themselves, or with the other band members.
Gal Metal is available for Nintendo Switch in Japan, and now has a demo on the Japanese eShop as well.
