G-Mode Wants Nintendo Switch Feature Phone Game Port Suggestions

This article is over 4 years old and may contain outdated information

Back in April 2020, developer G-Mode began releasing entries from its back catalog of feature phone games on the Nintendo Switch as G-Mode Archives. It all began with the RPG Flyhight Cloudia. Now, the developer took to Twitter to ask for suggestions regarding feature phone games players would want to see brought to Nintendo Switch. The interesting thing is, it doesn’t matter who developed the game.

Until July 19, 2020, people can reply to the tweet with a feature phone game title and the developer. The company asked that these be separated into two rows and have the #GMODEアーカイブス tag attached. There are no guarantees that any of them will be chosen, especially since a game might need to go through licensing negotiations, so treat it as something more of a suggestion box. G-Mode noted only one game should be suggested per Tweet.

Back when G-Mode Archives was first announced, Director Koichi Takeshita discussed how playing feature phone games on TVs via the Nintendo Switch brought about new experiences and let players experience nostalgic titles in a new way. He also said that he was open to bringing feature phone games from other companies to the Switch, and this looks to be the first step. The company has continued their feature phone game releases since April and the latest one, Pucchin Puzzle, will debut on the Nintendo eShop in Japan on July 16, 2020.
