Back in 2020, Sony announced the Play at Home initiative to help people cope with shelter-in-place orders during the pandemic. Now, it is bringing the program back. Play at Home 2021 will kick off with free Ratchet & Clank PS4 copies and an extended Funimation trial in March 2021.
The free Ratchet & Clank PS4 copies will be doled out first. Between March 1-31, 2021, people will be able to download a copy of the game for free. This offer will be available for PS4 and PS5 owners. (It will also give people a chance to revisit the series ahead of Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart in June 2021.)
As for the Play at Home 2021 Funimation (and Wakanim) trial, it will extend the normal trial. Normally, people can try either streaming anime service for 14 days. Sony said during this campaign, people who sign up on March 25, 2021 “can get an additional 90 days.” This would make the free trial length up to 104 days.
During Play at Home 2020, people ended up getting multiple free games. In most countries, people ended up with Journey and Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection. (The latter includes the first three games in the series.) Both China and Germany got Knack 2 instead of the Uncharted compilation.
Play at Home 2021 kicks off on March 1, 2021 with free copies of Ratchet & Clank PS4.
