There is finally a campaign in Power Rangers: Battle for the Grid. NWay has released a free update for the fighting game. This campaign offers a different take on the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: Shattered Grid comic series’ storyline.

Like Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: Shattered Grid, the Power Rangers: Battle for the Grid story is written by Kyle Higgins. (The Go Go Power Rangers artist, Dan Mora, does the art for the storyline.) Lord Drakkon is trying to destroy all Power Rangers across time and space, and it is up to players to use various incarnations of rangers to fight back against his minions. This new mod brings with it voice acting, as Jason David Frank is Tommy Oliver, Austin St. John is Jason Lee Scott, Meghan Camarena is Kimberly Ann Hart, David J. Fielding is Zordon, and Kerrigan Mahan is Goldar. (Presumably, Frank is also voicing Lord Drakkon.)

The Power Rangers: Battle for the Grid update also brings with it new characters and arenas. Cenozoic Blue Ranger, Dragon Armor Trini, and Udonna are now available. In addition, people can fight in Corinth and Planet Earth: Cenozoic Era in any mode and in Command Center (Malfunctioning) and Lord Drakkon’s Throne Room (Flashback) in the story mode.

Here is the Power Rangers: Battle for the Grid story mode trailer.

Power Rangers: Battle for the Grid is available for the Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One. It will come to the PC in 2019.
