There’s a new trailer offering a brief look at Forspoken, but the focus isn’t on its story or new reveals. Rather, it is an AMD FidelityFX Super Resolution (FSR) video with Luminous Productions talking about how the studio is using the new technology. Luminous Productions Studio Head and General Manager Takeshi Aramaki offered a few insights into goals for the game, such as offering “high frame rates at 4K” while some clips are shown.
The video begins with Aramaki talking about Luminous Productions’ goals with Forspoken and AMD FSR. He noted that they “are aiming to achieve the highest quality visuals ever seen in an open world game” and stressed the importance of “high frame rates at 4K.” He also noted that AMD’s tech is being used for a “performance boost when running Forspoken at 4K 60fps.”
While Aramaki is talking, footage of Frey dashing through a forest and fighting a bear runs in the background. There are also some clips of her in ruins with an enemy ahead of her.
Forspoken, formerly Project Athia, was officially unveiled back in March 2021. A full trailer is still on the way. The game will come to the PS5 and PC in 2022.
