Forger Family Watches Mission Impossible in Spy x Family Collaboration Trailer

In a promotional poster for Spy x Family Code: White, Wit Studio parodied a poster of Mission Impossible: Dead Reckoning. It places the characters in similar poses as the Mission Impossible stars in that poster, along with the same composition and lighting. This is part of a collaboration between the two movies, and there is also a special trailer in which the three Spy x Family characters explain the Mission Impossible movie.

You can watch the Spy x Family and Mission Impossible collaboration trailer via the Japanese Paramount Pictures YouTube channel. The conceit of the video is Loid taking Yor and Anya to watch Mission Impossible: Dead Reckoning in theaters. Loid explains the basics of the Mission Impossible franchise to Anya, while thinking about the similarities between himself and Ethan.

It seems to imply that the two franchises actually take place in the same universe, since Loid’s intel about Ethan comes from WISE. Perhaps WISE also has databases on pop culture. The video ends with a more normal trailer for the movie.

Spy x Family Code: White is the show’s first theatrical adaptation. It focuses on the Forger family taking a winter vacation of sorts. If the poster is any indication, side characters like Yuri and Fiona will also make appearances in it.

Spy x Family Code: White will debut on December 22, 2023 in Japan.
