Super Mario Maker gets nostalgic with one of its surprise minigames. Fly Swatter, a game where a person uses a fly swatter to attack a certain number of bugs before time runs out, is included within the Nintendo Wii U game. Gnats may appear on the course creator screen and, if someone taps them with the stylus on the GamePad when they do, a game of Fly Swatter will be triggered.

Fly Swatter’s first appearance was in Mario Paint on the Super Nintendo. There, the minigame was known as Gnat Attack or Coffee Break. It played similarly, though a player would use the mouse peripheral to control the swatter. The game later reappeared in 2003 as Fly Swatter in WarioWare, Inc.: Mega Microgame$!, where it was both a three second microgame and full minigame.

Super Mario Maker will be released on the Nintendo Wii U on September 11, 2015. It will cost $59.99.
