Nintendo’s last Advance Wars title before the series disappeared was Advance Wars: Days of Ruin. Set in a post-apocalyptic future, Days of Rune was released in North America and Europe in 2008, but its Japanese release was cancelled after numerous delays.

Japanese players that still want to play game are in luck, though. All these years later, Nintendo are going to release Advance Wars: Days of Ruin in Japan as a Club Nintendo Platinum Reward, similar to how Wii racer Excitebots was made available in Japan.

More interestingly, the game will be distributed as a Nintendo eShop download for 3DS and it uses 426 blocks of storage space. This marks the first time that Nintendo have made a Nintendo DS game available for 3DS via the eShop.
